Educational Initiatives
CCNMTL is partnering with faculty at Columbia and Georgetown in a wide range of disciplines, including clinical psychology and psychotherapy, counseling, social work, and medicine, as well as architecture, business, English, history, philosophy, and religion. Our faculty partners select from hundreds of hours of footage to create customized collections for their courses. Students view the film in a secure, Web-based environment that supports the editing and annotation of video as well as the writing of "multimedia essays" that enable students to embed filmic references directly into the text they produce. The goal of this endeavor is to capitalize on the power of close viewing and multiple perspectives to create a deeper understanding of the effects of 9/11 and to put this understanding into practice.
